Why their was only a 3% chance that GrowsCo would exist…
Hi friends… I have something personal to share.
Over the past two years, I’ve been battling stage IV cancer. It was a type with a 3% survival rate, and everyone in the Netherlands who had been diagnosed with it before me had passed away.
After many miracles… from a Belgian surgeon who, after three unsuccessful attempts in the Netherlands, operated on me free of charge at just days’ notice to save my life, to becoming cancer-free thanks to a round of chemotherapy they actually didn’t want to give me anymore because I had been almost completely given up on…
This period has taken a lot from me, but it has given me at least as much in return.
For the past period, I’ve been able to walk again, something I couldn’t do throughout the entire previous year. In business, I’ve noticed that my empathy, my patience to let the people who work for me learn, my sense of calm, and my priorities are all in a much better place.
Today, in my role as Founder, I can be the glue between talented people, bringing them together to solve bigger problems for others. That’s exactly what I dreamed of doing as a little boy, but something I could never truly achieve before because I lacked the patience.
So what we will do now is start small and serve many individual families the best way possible to make them happy. We will do this with a Locals-First mentality.
As the owner of Peter Peters Construction once told me when I was a sixteen-year-old boy asking him for business advice: “Many small things together also become something great.”
